I have a 04 rx8 noticed coolent leaking took her in to Mazda they told me she has a split radiator. They didn't notice any physical damage just that it's split. Can anyone tell me how this happens??? That way maybe I can prevent it happening again

Also she has a full warrenty for a couple more months the dealership says radiator isn't covered. It's suppose to b a bumper to bumper 100 0/0. R they screwing me over?? Thanks for any advice ))

try to ask them to explain what is bumper to bumper warranty.

Mazda just told me it's split! I asked them how that happens they said they didn't see any physical damage to it just that it was split. They told me that sometimes that just happens. So I came home thought I would ask the club see if someone might have an idea!! Thanks red skateboard )

oh and we need pics to see the problem. maybe it was a actually a split radiator hose?

 

They probably will say that the rad is a Wear item your car had a 50,000 miles warr which means if you have 65,000 your transmission is not covered coils and some other bull ish. But If your engine if f-up and does not drip then they can replace it all the way to 100,000 bu far as the rad I do think they will cover it

 

The top and bottom of the radiator are some sorta plastic compsite and they do split sometimes.
