some difficulty shifting
Hello every body My 05 6spd and i have been through alot, 11 months ago i changed the clutch machined the fly wheel and the whole 9 yards. Everything has been good for a while but as of recently ive noticed an issue shifting 6th wont engauge all the way unless i either shift from 4th or rev up to 6th coming from 5th, and 5th is unaccessable from 6th (down shifting). would an adjustment at the clutch pedal help this or am i looking at possibly other bigger issues?
Thanks Jeff |
did you change the bearings with the clutch? did you bleed the clutch? could be a syncro but i would first make sure the pedal bracket isnt cracked/broke
|
I did change bearings and bled the clutch, Ill take a look at the bracket either today or tommorw. If thats fine then I guess the syncros are the direction im headed in.

2 available clutch pedal assemblies?
Good morning rx8club last nite i fell victom to the broken clutch pedal. while shopping around for a new one this morning I called the stealership to find out theres two available. One is aluminum and the other is standard. Are they just talking about the pad? I was under the impression there was only one available. Anybody able to shed some lite on this would be very helpfull. thanks

the problem made itself clear to me when the clutch pedal assembly finaly broke.
Thank you to everybody who replied. |
They are talking about the pad. I'm betting that they interpreted your question to be about the "clutch pedal" and not the "clutch pedal assembly".
If you are paying out of pocket for a pedal assembly however (the dealer will replace it for free if you are within 8yr 100k from first purchase), consider buying BHR's welded one instead of one from a dealer. It won't ever fail (unlike the factory one you get), and depending on dealer markup, it could easily be cheaper, and you are supporting a club vendor. Thats what I was figguring, I was not aware of the bhr pedal assembly I more than likely will go that route now

Thank you to everybody who replied. Take it off and have it welded/reinforced...The removal takes like 5 minutes...If that. |
I was wonder if I could arc or tac weld the assembly back together it seperated at the bracket, so i can use her until the new one comes?

I replied to your other thread...Just take it off and have it welded and reinforced...Done...No need to buy a new one. |
Threads merged.
Yes, you can totally weld up the current pedal, and if you do that you don't need to buy another one. The pedal assembly breaks at the weld points, not on structural bars. So re-welding it all restores it to where it should be. |
I welded the pedal back together and reinstalled it and wow does it feel good. Thank you to everybody for the advice on this issue.
Unfortunately Im still experiencing the diffuclties shifting into 5th and 6th same as before. it feels like its hanging up in there on something unless im going from 4th to 6th and viceversa. Now that the pedal is fixed any ideas on what this could be? |
