So my sunglass holder pee'd on me...

I'm serious. No idea where or what is causing the leak, but it rained last night, everything closed up, (windows/moonroof 100% shut), I opened them all this morning as I started her up. About 10 minutes later, I was taking a tight right-hander curve near max G, and a stream of water came from the crack around my sunglass holder (just forward of the moonroof controls), straight into my lap. When I got to work, I opened it up, looked around, but couldn't find any indication of where the water came from in there.

First time I have opened the holder since poking into everything when I bought my 8 10 months ago.

Maybe it is just unhappy with the lack of attention, but no idea where the water came from... or how it got there.

ok don't panic most times if your around any trees at all leaves and dirt will build up in and around what they call weep holes that drain water to the under side of the car on both left and right sides of all sun roofs.if perchance these holes get clogged when you trun sharp right or left the water finds it way out of the pockets to the near exit upon you lap,head,neck,etc..have someone blow some compressed air into your two weep holes and see how much trash and water come out .some sun roofs have four weep holes to help drain out excess water.hope this helps

nice title...

i would think if water came from the sunglass holder, that it would hit some of the electricals up there too. how much water came through? hopefully not enough to cause any damage.

lol thats funny... check the fitment of the closed sunroof from the top of the car... maybe a crack in the sealant

Wait, my understanding is that there are drains under the moonroof glass, in case the seal isn't completely perfect. Is that not accurate?

Not much water, maybe a tablespoon. No damage, my pants absorbed it, though my ego took a blow when it looked like I pissed my pants.

There isn't any gap i can find in the seal, and the only thing I can think of is that it has been there for a while, and finally came out, perhaps gathering there at one point when the moonroof was open? I don't know.

Thanks for the tip on the drain holes possibly being plugged, ill work on that. I might pop the whole section out and see what happens. (2 mounting screws are visible behind the sunglass holder)
