Self diagnosed as COILS-Agree or Disagree
My 8 is an 04 with engine #1 with 71,000 miles on it. I recently garaged my car, disconnected the battery, cleaned the engine bay, etc.
The past 4 weekends I took it out, my 8 will NOT stay running :banghead: It still has FULL POWER, it does not feel like its lost power, but as soon as I push in the clutch, no matter the speed or gear, the needle just goes right down to 0. Reason I diagnose it as coils is because I have done extensive research and usually a loss in low end power and dying out is associated with coils. My car seems to "lag" (worse than normal ;) ) up until about 5K which is when it kicks in full force. The last time my coils were replaces was at 21K miles :Eyecrazy: The only other thing I could think of was that when I washed and detailed my engine bay, maybe water got someplace it shouldnt be :dunno: I JUST replaced the plugs and wires at 62K miles but neglected the coils, and my car has a midpipe so it is not a clogged cat Any input would be great, thanks everyone. |
check in the following order..

Well, I went outside yesterday and pushed on all the ignition wires. LOL, problem solved! It idles perfect now. Thats some weight off my shoulders, thanks for the help. Engine #1 is still good :)
