rx8 wont start

Hey guys, I have a 2004 RX8 with around 78k miles. About 5 days ago, I started my rx8, went to go get some food, stopped at the gas station, I got back in my car, started it up, and as I was reversing, the car suddenly shut off. Since then I havent been able to start it, the weird thing is that when I insert the key, I get no response from my dashboard, like if I didnt inset the key. I checked the battery and thats not the problem. Anyone know what might be the problem?

Could be a lot of things but I would check my battery connections first.

I checked the battery already, headlights turn on, and so do the inside lights. When I turn the key to the on position, nothing happens, I get no reaction from the dashboard, radio, or windows. Any other ideas?

did you actually physically test the battery (ie using a reader)?
Did you test the key fob battery?

No I haven't physically checked the battery , and the key fob battery is good. The reason I don't think its the battery is because the car was on for like 10 seconds before it shut off. And before that, I had no problems wit the battery.

Just because you think it's good, that doesn't mean that it is ;)

You could try doing a google search (link in my sig) and look for things like key fob receiver, or similar.

I'll go ahead and to a test on the battery see if that helps, thanks :)

you can also check the battery cables. is it damaged/corroded?

yeah, the posts have the white residue around them, could that be the problem? The car still gets some power from the battery because the lights turn, but could it be that its not getting enough current or something like that?

the white residue, is battery acid. that stuff is like cancer. it can spreads to the battery cables.

So would I just have to clean them or would the cables have to be replaced as well?

try cleaning them 1st with a battery terminal/ cable wire brush. if that doesn't work try jump starting. then i'll will consider replacing the cables.

That's what I was talking about.

So I found the problem, the ignition key fuse was blown. I replaced it and it worked for a while but then it blew again, anyone know what may be causing this?
