Rx8 shifter problemes

Hey there im not much of a mechanic so i figured ill ask before spending to get the towed to mazda.

im just looking for input on what the problem might be and how much it could take to fix the car up.

Here it is:

- Engine starts but weak battery
- The car does not want to gear in. The clutch is fine supposedly but just does not want to get into the gears.

i know it aint alot of info but thats all i got.

i was thinking it might be a bad or broken gearbox or the transmission?

Alright i asked the owner he says he can shift the car into any gear but nothing happens when he trys to roll.?

What could it be?

^^ Throw out bearing failure is the noise, how many miles on the clutch ? What happens when you try to take off in 4th gear, does it bog down or does the clutch slip ?

As for trouble getting into gear, your looking at throwout bearing or synchro... The clutch shouldn't prevent getting into gear unless your clutch pedal is bent/broke at the base (quite common) which prevents you from fully separating the clutch discs.
Starting issues could possibly be from this as well with the added resistance with the clutch partially engaged.
1. Check base of pedal (there are many threads covering this)
2. Try double clutching into gear, if that improves shifting your looking at the synchros or t.o. bearing.
