RX8 04 Both Fans not on and temperature high

:p::rollinglaSaid me posibles causes for the both fans no on. The temperature high in :yelrotflmheavy trafic and with the air condidioning on. If shutoff the airconditioning the temperature is normal at 40 mph. Said me if I can connect the fan alltime on (direct conection).

Where is the coolant temperature sensor ???

If the AC is on the ac fan no on and the motor fan no on. Please said me a solutions or how test thank.

Coolant temp sensor is built into the coolant overflow bottle in the front of the engine compartment. Need to replace the bottle to replace the sensor. Check with Mazmart for one of these if necessary.

Here is a way to test the fans electrically. Before doing this, check the fans manually to see if they turn by hand. If one or both feel sluggish or stuck then there my be something obstructing them or else a motor might need lubrication or replacement.

To test electrically:
With the ignition off –

Open the front fuse box (in the engine compartment) and find Cooling Fan Relay #1 it's in the middle. Stay away from Relays #2 + #3.

Pull relay 1 out and jumper together the two large terminals with a piece of insulated wire. (The little ones are signal, it won't hurt anything, but they are not the ones.)

Once the car is started, both fans should run on slow speed. If one of them is burned out, neither will run. If one of them is jammed, only the free one will run.

FYI – description of the fan relays: - there are two fans (A & B) controlled by three relays, wired in two circuits (1 & 2). The two sets of relays get switched power from the ECU power circuit and the computer grounds the relays to activate.

When relay 1 closes, A & B fans run at half power.
When relay 2 closes, fan B runs, full speed.
When both relays close, both fans run full speed.

err... coolant temp sensor is located behind the thermostat housing dude ...

the bottle sensor u speak of, is the coolant level sensor. and its replaceable after bottle revision e i think.
