RX-8 wont start / interior not working

Hey I have a 2004 Mazda rx8 with no mods (yet) and just did her 100km service (all new spark plugs and my mechanic looked over the engine and couldn't see anything else that needed replacing). She is my daily drive but I take her up to the red like 3 - 4 times a week at least, mainly just for the little smile it brings to my face :).
I have been having some electrical problems with her over the past few months basically this is what happens:
(This website has the same symptons showing as my car however the originator never bothered to post up the solution http://www.fixya.com/cars/t6949246-some_type)

My key-less entry works once then after I turn my car onto accessories none of my interior turns on. I can hear the relays clicking over as I try and start her but it won't even try and start the starter motor. (cars not flooded I have had that happen to me once and know what it sounds like).

After a few attempts I take my battery out and let her sit for a good 20 min, place it back on and leave my key on accessories and normally in about 10 - 15 min everything turns back on. It was never a big deal because I knew how to do the "patch job" to get her working again however it happened to me while driving to Wagga Wagga all my warning lights and started flashing and about 5 min later my head lights were flickering like an 80's disco room.

She is currently at the Wagga Wagga mazda dealer after getting her towed there and the mechanic said it is the master fuse and a relay. I haven't really got to talk to him yet mainly because I live in Canberra and currently working. I am really just looking to see if anyone else has had this issue and if it really was just as simple as a relay or if it is more. I am guessing the master fuse wouldn't have had much to do with the initial fault but may have blown when I kept trying to start her after pulling over and letting her sit.

sounds to me like he is on the right track
