RX-8 Stalling
 

driving my 8 to work today and as I came to a stop sign my 8 just die I thought maybe I kept it in gear, nut at the next light it happend again Now my car will not idle unless the rpm's are at like 3000 somebody help me:banghead:

take it to the dealer and explain the problem. sounds like a new engine is on the way

You have a 5 year 60K eng and drive line warranty, better make an apt...

I just began having a similar problem today. '04 MT with ~46K miles.

Yesterday the car was fine. Today it idled a bit rough in the morning when I first started it. On the way home from work this evening, the idle got really out of hand, swinging between 500 and 1500 rpm at the first light. At the next stop sign the engine died. From then on, every time I stopped, the engine would die unless I kept blipping the throttle to keep it going.

Dealer service department was closed when I got home, so hopefully I'll be able to bring it in tomorrow. I don't feel comfortable trying to drive it at all in this condition.

I noticed that the car sounded a little strange, something off about the intake/exhaust note, sounded more hollow or something... hard to describe.

So after some searching on the forum, I realized that the strange sound I was hearing was the sound the tube coming out of the revi air intake being disconnected. The forum just saved me a trip to the dealership. Thanks everybody!

ok well I had to get my 8 flashed again but hey its working great again
