Rx-8 Down

Rx-8 down! Help needed!
Hey all, I have a 2004 MT GT with just over 125,000 miles on it. I recently (3000 miles or so) had the cat replaced with a magnaflow high flow California Legal cat.

Car has started to die when I go to put the car into gear to move it. It is as if the engine doesnt want to handle the load. I had a CEL last night for the eccentric shaft sensor, so I took it out cleaned it, and replaced it. Cleared the codes, and reset ess profile. Let car run at idle, died once, and threw another code for running to rich. Reset ess again and cleared codes, let car run for another 30 minutes at idle. No issues, other than fluctuating idle occasionally and nearly dieing. After the 30 minutes or so I decided to take the car out onto the road to see how it drives, and it died again as soon as I tried to engage reverse. I'm out of ideas! Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks!

EDIT: UPDATE!
Started car again this afternoon, back to these two codes from the computer.
P0172 - System Too Rich
P0335 - Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit

Thoughts?

System too rich: vacuum leak, ignition coils. That Magnaflow cat may not live long. Was the original cat replaced because it was clogged and if so, was the entire ignition system replaced with it?

P0335: potentially the sensor or wiring to it are damaged. Without fixing that, fixing above code is not useful. You could try a different sensor, or try to examine the connector and wiring.
