running problem
hi im new to this so bear with me i recently bought a 2003 rx8 which has 52000 miles on it it drives great and so much fun took a bit of getting used to the rotary engine but recently i had trouble starting it when hot and sometimes when cold so changed the plugs leads and coil packs and have fitted a racing cat converter and also upgraded starter which has sorted the starting problem but today while blasting up the motorway i was making sure to red line it having a bit of fun and the red water level light came on there was a loss in power and some blue smoke came out the back then i backed off the throttle and light went of some more smoke as i accelerated and a loss in power turned off at a junction and the problem cleared and car ran fine again this is the second time this has happened and wondering if anyone can shed some light on this problem????????:dunno:
oh and there has been no cel light on when this has happened |
Do a search for coolant reservoir for the coolant light problem.
The blue smoke is not a good sign. It may be an OMP issue, oil or coolant seal failure or the likes. Get ready to buy a new engine as the worst case scenario (and the most likely one). |
i was bit worried that it could b engine but not using water or oil only very slight oil which i thought the do anyway but thinking i might rebuild the engine as im a mechanic to trade but never really had much involment in the rotary engine its jus wierd only time i have had the smoke is the twice the water light came on
