how about circling or arrow?

rotarygod 03-31-2010 12:20 PM

Where? All I see are casting marks.

Huey52 03-31-2010 12:23 PM

I can't see a crack either. Perhaps a "have to be there" thing. Or overly enthusiast-anxious. ;)

NgoRX8 03-31-2010 12:25 PM

I see no crack. You may be referring to that little chip in the housing, but considering how thick a housing is...

yes i'm refering to the little chip. i don't know how thick is the housing so i don't know.

looking other rotor housings this is the first time i saw something like that.

Oh, the chip; could have just said that or better taken a minute and circled it in the picture. Anyway, it's quite thick at that point. I can measure my "trophy" housing this eve if you're that concerned.

Looks normal to me other than the chip but i don't think it an issue. Is that a reman engine? My car had a shit load of silicone between the housings (explain's my UOA's)

laythor 03-31-2010 01:41 PM

it's not a crack.. it's a love bite

Easy_E1 03-31-2010 02:31 PM

Looks like a small flaw in the casting. I would say that there is nothing to worry about.

Skezzer 03-31-2010 02:32 PM

you would probably be losing coolant and finding a chocolate shake in the oil pan if it were.

Huey52 04-01-2010 07:24 AM

~5/8" thick material at its narrowest point and that chip appears to be superficial. As Easy indicates it just seems to be a minor casting flaw.
