To reset the ECU fuel map or not?
I have a 700 mile road trip coming up this weekend. I currently am averaging 15 mpg (70% highway / 30% city). I have read a lot of the gas milage posts and a few people are claiming that resetting the fuel map using the milage button and turning the car on and off method has improved the milage.
I bought my car used from the dealer (2004 Manual GT) and I was wondering if the driver before may have had an aggressive fuel map. I've only had the car for about 500 miles. Is there any down side to resetting the fuel map? Would my 700 mile road trip of all highway miles screw up the new fuel map? |
no downside, go ahead and reset it and see if it helps.
