I had my car broken into and the theif stole my rearview mirror, because my valentine was attached to it. (Of course, you can litterally just slide it off) anyways, He broke my windsheild in the process and so I had it replaced yesterday (oh and theif was caught) But, the problem is, I got my mirror back, but there is a peice that is inside the glass that the mirror is connected to on every windsheild. My new one has one, however, the old one is still attached to the old mirror (only have one mirror, the one that got stolen) The problem is that I cannot get this metal peice that was bonded to the glass off of the mirror to put it on the new windsheild.

I have pictures to try to help clarify. I believe it is glued on? but I may be wrong. If you have any idea or experience with this. Please let me know.

 

You'll have to shove a flathead screwdriver into the slot of the mirror base and disengage a spring clip that holds the mirror button to the base of the mirror.
