Rear wheel flange and bearing replacement
 
Hello, so my outside rear wheel love tapped a curb while on a tight turn.
I detect a slight wobble when lifted and spinning.

Two alignment machines gave the green light though I don't trust their measurements as they are significantly different from respected alignment shop I was at two weeks prior to the accident.

I want the repair to be as quick as possible, I already have a wheel bearing and I'm considering buying the flange as well. Looks like I'll need to have the wheel studs pressed into the flange, is that correct?
Has anyone done a rear flange (#8) replacement and has any advice?

It's fairly straight forward to do with the right tools. There are guide lines stamped into the dust shield at opposite sides of the knuckle to indicate where to support it in the press.


That said, have you swapped the wheel to make sure this is not bent rather than the stub shaft?

great, I will be taking the hub and bearing to a machine shop to be pressed; but will I need the wheel studs removed and pressed too?

If you want to reuse them then yes, however they can be pressed in and out with an appropriately sized socket and a sturdy vice on the bench
