RB dual res midpipe questions...
 

Hey whats up guys....and girls. I just recently installed my RB dual res midpipe and I wasn't sure what to think after I tried it out.I also have the MS exhaust if you need to know that. Anyway...First of all....I didn't notice a power difference what so ever. I know it's not a put you back in your seat kinda difference....but I thought I'd at least feel something. Does it just take a little bit for the computer to adjust or what? I didn't show a cel right away either...took a few hours. Also....there was a few times where I tried taking it to redline and it sputtered real bad at about 8 grand. It just did it a few times soooo I don't know if thats due to a leak...or again...the 8 adjusting to the midipe. U was just wondering what others experinced with this setup or if anyone else has any helpful info...could share it with me. Thank you

You should feel the power right after you put it on. As for the sputtering, check your ignition coils...they might be bad.

If you're getting that "wall" feeling at the upper RPMs, you might want to reset your e-shaft sensor. Here's how you do it.

1. Turn the key to the "on" position, but do not turn over the engine.
2. As soon as step 1 is finished, stomp rapidly on the brake pedal about 20 times.
3. You notice that the oil pressure gauge does a half sweep and returns when you do this correctly.
4. Once the oil pressure gauge needle sweeps back to its original position, turn the key to the "off" position and then back to the "on" position - this time start the car.

Warm up the car and make sure you wait about 10 minutes AFTER the water temp needle reaches the 11 o'clock position.........then romp on it!

I did mine about 3 months ago and I noticed a nice difference right away. My CEL took about a full day to come on to but I loved the sound. I would say to check your coils and plugs to but if you feel confident than ok. Check oil level, take off the plastic inlet piece before the throttle body and see if you have oil in there.

hmmm alright I'll do some checkin. I can't do anything right now cause the roads are terrible right now where I live soooo. Maybe it's just me...I don't know

sounds more to me like there a leak in the exhaust somewhere. If your coils are new and you weren't having these issues before installing the midpipe then that should be your problem. I know sometimes good exhaust companies will give you bad gaskets and its better to make your own, but I have never taken off the exhaust on my car yet, so I'm not even sure if you had to use any. But that's where I would start

I don't know we'll see when the roads clear up. I can't do much about it now. Any real easy techniques on how to check for those leaks?

try also resetting your fuel trims and allow for the car to relearn with a few drive cycles.

I woke up not feeling so good today and my left foot hurts. My coils must be bad .... :hahano:

Inspection = sight and touch. Just keep it in a well ventelated area if you inspect while the cars on.

If you want to cheat at checking for an exhaust leak you could always seafoam your engine and watch the smoke pour out of the leak or your exhaust tips.
