Radio/Display Doesn't Work After Removal

Hey guys,

I installed an AUX input connector on the OEM Bose head unit and upon reinstallation the unit I got this:

A brief search says I may have cracked the faceplate circuit board...after disassembly of the head unit, visual inspection and reassembly, the display works, but is dim and the stereo does not work...HVAC controls do work...

Has anyone encountered this before? I'm thinking I'll be looking for a new stereo, but I haven't completely ruled out that I yanked a wire back there, since there's very little slack.

UPDATE: The problem seems to have been fixed, as I note below. Though, the AUX interface does NOT work. It's another passive component connector from ebay, but with a different pin out than what I've seen NOT work on here, before. So, I think it's looking like none of them work that don't have a "black box".

Fixed!(?) While there was initially a problem with the radio, it seems disassembling the face plate and reassembling it fixed the problem.

The reason the radio was THEN not working, while the HVAC controls and display were working, is because the battery voltage was low. I had been working on some things in the engine bay and could not start the car. So, putting a charger on it seems to have allowed it to function normally again. Crisis averted!
