Well, do i have a somewhat going bad water pump?

Every time i cruise on the highway at 80mph or higher, which i believe is around 5k rpm's my radiator light comes on. My water and oil temp on the gauges not (the dash) are not rising in temp. they stay about they same. i haven't pushed it long enough to make them rise, i usually let off to about 75mph then cruise there.

Checked.
1) no leaks in fluid
2) water reservoir is full (i have even tried adding little more)
3) temps all remain about the same no jumping around.
4) ....

whats next?

Have you tried rinsing out the coolant tank with vinegar since that sensor is a known problem that many have?!

the radiator light is a level indicator only. if its really full and you get the ligth at speed like that then try the cleaning as jon says. you've got a sticky float.

And search! There are a bunch of threads on this subject. try "Coolant bottle" or "Coolant light". Most likely you have a bad sensor(sticky or bad float)!

The low level CEL can also mean the coolant is boiling.
Check the cap and get a temp gauge as the stock temperature "gauge" doesn't do anything; it may move up when you completely boil over.

Most OBD2 gauges will show coolant temps, EFI Dude will log temps, but not "realtime".
Autozone carries the Scangauge for about $170.00.

Yeah I just got my coolant tank replaced, it had a faulty sensor

My light's been flashing occasionally. Not often or long enough to bring it in under warranty. B to B ends in about a week, after which I expect it to come on more often. My plan is to just pull the connector off. This is a really silly thing to have a warning light for. The coolant tank is translucent and in clear view...no excuse to not glance at it every now and then.

^^ ^ if your BB ends in a week why not get it replaced??? Lol... Sounds kinda dumb imo... Get all of your crap thats acting up fixed before your out of warranty...

'Cause it's not going to be on when I bring it in. And it's not reproducable. I think it's come on maybe three or four times, rather randomly, just for a few seconds.

Fixing it myself by pulling the plug doesn't bother me. Making a fuss by taking it in would let it know that I care, and would only encourage it.

Well, that's your prerogative of course. I'll bet if you plug it in and take the dealer tech for a ride and bring it to redline in 3rd gear it will do it. Seems like that's where it always starts out at.

Anyway, I agree you should always check the coolant level from time to time much like when you do the oil, so no real big deal unplugging it, but............if you were cruising along and loosing fluid from elsewhere(leak), you might be able to catch it sooner rather than later and potentially not overheat. I went ahead and bought another tank(rev M) which to my knowledge has no reported failures at this point. Even though I run a separate gauge and monitor coolant temp, I still figured I'd have that sensor. We shall see if this bottle ever fails....I may change my mind at that point. :suspect:
