Problem while driving(critical)
Hey guys so ill try my best to describe this. So this didnt happen just once, it happened a lot of times already but i did not think it was a big deal but im posting it because now its getting on my nerves. So when i drive and come to a stop or so sometimes my radio turns off by itself and my wheel becomes really hard for a second and i get this jerk(its an auto so it feels like a stall but not as bad.) I was wondering what this was. Also today on the road i came to a red light and it was cold so i just turned on my seat warmers and the car suddenly feels like a stall n the engine turns off? i had to put my gear back to park and turn the car off and turn it back on... My friends were shocked as well. Someone said battery but i am not sure. Anyone can clearify this?

charging system. battery/alternator.
|
So what would i exactly need? Should i take it to the dealer?
|
The steering is electric, that's your tip-off that it's probably a loose connector on the battery.
If you can't check and tighten that, take it to a dealer. S |
I will try to find it first and try. Where is it exactly located? any tips on how i can do this? Also if i do take it to the dealer would i lack warrenty because im running no cat as well haha

Your steering is hard due to your car wanting to stall. It could be a number of things. For me what I had my 04 base AT, first it was a bad CAT then it was coils and spark plugs then it was the engine. Just take it in and get her looked at.

Take it to autozone they can check your battery and alternator if it is going bad.

-Gil p.s thanks for the tips guys! |
anyone?

take it somewhere that knows what they are doing. you had to ask where the battery is, get it looked at by a pro for the safety of everyone around you.

Check the charging system and battery - autozone can walk you through that and they have the testing equipment... if those both test okay, take it to a dealer. (unless you feel comfortable trying to fix an electrical problem yourself.... but if you're not sure and how to tighten the battery cables, this could pose a problem) |
If the altenator was bad, wouldnt it have drained the battery by now? I would go to autozone first, like stated above. Is it the original battery? If so, you most likely need to replace it. Get a good, high CCA battery. I know Autozone has like a 3yr warranty on their "good" batteries. Even if it isnt great, you can get atleast 1 new one in the 3 year span.

I like the idea of a loose battery cable for this one. May as well replace the battery, it's probably due to be replaced anyways (why some people wait to get stranded before replacing it I'll never know).
I don't think it's plugs coils or the TB, and that's because when I stall my engine with a good charging system, my electrics will not go out (sometimes the radio is so loud I don't even realize I've stalled....) The electrics going out make the battery or battery cables the primary suspect to me. Does the car start OK? Nice strong crank? |

+1 on Loose Battery Cable - possible loose terminal on the battery also - check for corrosion on the terminals too...
