Power Steering Problem :-\

Last week I ripped (yup I said ripped) my broken driver's side sun visor off causing a few fuses to pop. My radio, interior and dc port all went dead (blown fuses)... I dove the car for a day or two this way and then replaced all of the fuses. I disconected the battery before poking round in the fuse box and now I have another problem.

After reconnecting the battery, everything worked just fine again... as always the DSC light was flashing and I reset it by turning the wheel left and right so all was well with that. Then... I noticed that my power steering light was on. I drove the car, read my manual and even called the dealer and they had no clue. They suggested that the power steering fuse had blown when I replaced the others so I checked it again and it was fine...

Is there a way to reset the power steering or something that I'm missing??? I'm trying to sell the car in the next couple weeks and this would obviously need to be fixed before I did so.

2005 6spd with ground effects 39-40,000 miles with engine and power train still under warranty----- asking $13,000 if anyone is interested.

did you check fuses under the hood as well as the footwell?

I did... I actually checked everything that I thought could possibly maybe be causing the issue. Yikes

Power steering faults are often coolant overflow having spilled down the hose onto the electrical connectors below (poor Mazda cable routing). Cleaning the connector(s) is often all you need to do.

Advanced search "power steering" and you'll find discussion/diagrams.

oh, how I wish there was a GREAT thread out there with information on power steering failure. Something with people's experience, fixes, diagrams, and even part numbers would be really cool.
