is this possible!?!

can someone please help me? i recently had an accident which didn't involve any damage to the car engine, it started perfectly fine before being towed to this awful place which flooded the spark plugs the first day and tried to blame me for it. I wasn't mad because i know it happens easily. so they cleaned them and that was the end of it. Now when I get the car back it sounded weak while starting it but I was so sick of these guys that all i wanted to do was get it out of there. two days later it won't start. I assumed it was the spark plugs and i figured i would just go on and pay for that to be fixed out of cash because going through insurance was NOT worth it. ESPECIAlly for an engine problem. however with winter coming in like a race horse I just thought it would be a better idea to wait out the winter and have it fixed in the spring. so finally here spring is and i take my car in to a mazda dealership to be fixed and they tell me ( i think the guy on the phone was as clueless as me) something about the crankshaft, oil build up in the engine and I need a brand new engine. Is it possible that my engine could be destroyed from sitting out a winter!? or am I the one being destroyed by a bunch of sharks? please i need help from anyone that knows a thing or two. I'm only 20 and I work a full time job paying for this absolute dream car and i find myself watching my money fly down tubes while my car sits undrivable. I refuse to let this car go but i just can't help feeling like this is an impossible problem. Basically, I went from needing a new wheel to needing a new engine!

The first thing we need to know is year, mileage? You have a 8 yr 100,00 mile warrenty on the engine. Give more info on your car so the guys can help further.

yea man no worries, as long as you are under 100k miles on the car you will get an engine free form any Mazda dealership. Thats something Mazda did for all RX8's

So actually if they told you that you need a new a engine i would just go right back down their and say "yup what do you know, i DOOO need a new engine =]".

Then your all set with a brand new engine

I looked in to that warranty. It's iffy. I don't have any receipts from my oil changes, not to mention half the time i changed it myself plus i usually used 5w 30 i don't know how much of that matters in this situation but it seems so far like they're going to say nope, you didn't do this or that so we won't cover you. It was a good thought though.

You have a very low mileage car for an 05. Don't talk yourself out of it. Have the dealer look at it and see if it is a candidate for a warranty replacement.

Well they haven't said no yet, right? Try it and push them a little if they say no. Call Mazda North America if the dealer doesn't agree...

Mazda North America is a bia! I had my tranny replaced under warranty, 4 months later it went out again. They would not replace it again under warranty because my my 4 year warranty just expired and the new part was cover under it not the normal one year warranty of a new item bc I didnt pay for it. It was shi**y. Made me not wanna Mazda anymore (dont get me wrong..I love my car, I njust need a company that stands behind their products). Anyways I would fight the best you can. I wish you luck!

i know exactly what you mean about the not wanting a mazda anymore. We'll see what happens. Either way Im going to have it fixed. It's too much of a loss to let it go and i love my car too much.

The only way I would have another Mazda is if it is whatever new Rx edition is out at the time and it is used as my second car. So until I will the lottery this will be my last for a while.
