P2070 - Engine Coolant - Engine Smoke

Hi Rx-8 club,

So about 2 weeks ago I had a check engine light P2070 (intake manifold tuning valve stuck open). Still not fixed. Now, today I was driving around (being a bit hard on the engine) and as I pull up to the house I notice the bonnet smoking. I open the hood to see more smoke come out and couldn't determine the smell... So had the car standing in one spot for 10-15min and then I moved it, to see that there is a small tea spoon puddle of coolant on the ground...

Taking it to the dealer Friday but I do not really want to =/ as most of the work I do myself on the car.

Besides the P2070 issue I was wondering if there has been any issues of smoke and coolant?

If the coolant is leaking into the engine, the smoke would come out of exhaust.
Check your coolant reservoir and coolant lines.
I don't know how would P2070 issue affect coolant circulation tho...

Problem found, leaking water pump and thermo stat.

Kind of weird the water pump was replaced 2 years ago under warranty...... Why would it die so fast?
