P0302 cylinder misfire, p0125 , p0506

I just bought a 2004 rx8 and the car starts but stalls. I placed the obdII scanner on it and three codes appear first code p0302 cylinder 2 misfire, second code is p0125 insuffiecient coolant temp for closed loop fuel, third code p0506 idle air control system rpm lower than expected. I have already swapped the spark plugs but problem persists. From reading on the forum i believe this can be a problem with faulty coil pakcs, wires, plugs or catalytic converter. The vehicle has 58k on it. if anyone one has some advice i would appreciate the help.

New wires and coils as well. Start there. You can purchase OEM from www.finishlineperformance.com for ~$30 per coil and $100 for wires (plan on replacing them every 30-40K miles) or buy BHR's upgraded aftermarket kit from www.blackhaloracing.com for ~$480. It's a much better setup that will last the life of your car and support much higher power levels if you ever decide to go turbo.

Start with replacing those first and then see how things run.

i replaced the coil packs, wires and the vehicle seems to be running fine now. thanks for the help. after removing the coil packs i did notice some carbon build up which was probably causing them to ground out.

Great! Glad to hear it's running fine now.
