Oil light on- oil level fine - 2006 car

I am experiencing an odd thing with my oil light. Twice within the last two weeks I have had my oil light turn on. Each was after a redline run in first, shift to second, pulling off at about 45-50mph.

The oil light remained on until I restarted the engine. Once I restarted, it went away.

I checked the oil level. 1st time, an 1/2 of the way from full on the stick. I topped it off, and thought it was weird, as I have run the oil level lower than that without the light come on. Hell I've never had it come on before.

Second time the oil was about 1/8 of the way from full, so oil level doesn't sound like it.

Anyway. I had my engine replaced under warranty about 6,000 miles ago. I have wondered, is it possible I have got a pre-TSB 04 oil pan installed on my reman? I have a 2006, so the original oil pan perhaps wasn't carried over?

What makes me doubt this, is from my searching, the pre-tsb oil light goes off while your still driving, whereas in my case it only goes off once I restart the car.

Any ideas?

My first thought is that its probably an issue with the level sensor. Make sure to keep an eye on the level. (Mazda suggests checking the level every other fill up anyway)

Off the top of my head, I dont know if there are any other causes which will illuminate that light. I'll check my manual in the morning, but I'm feeling pretty lazy/tired at the moment.:mdrmed:

Might be a defective oil level sensor.

It's possible it could be a bad sensor, I agree. I have another question. Is there any way to identify the pre-tsb oil pan from the post-tsb oil pan, externally? That is, without dropping the pan?

Also, do remans ship with the pan attached?
