N3R1-10-507 is the part number for the front main $13.44 list.

Thank you sir.. I will get back to this thread soon.. I must eliminate the fact that it could be the OMP however..
Hmmm.... What to do, what to do.

clean it up, and it'll be easier to figure out where its coming from?

I'm having the same exact problem with oil leaking from somewhere around the OMP/main seal. I have an 05 with 110K miles on it. I dont have oil on the underside of the hood, but i do have some sort of spray pattern on the black brace that tensions the alternator belt, and oil spray in the immediate area on the radiator hoses and stuff.

Taking it to Mazda this Saturday, will let you know what they find.. I'm afraid it is that main seal, which I've heard is quite expensive due to labor. Too bad I don't have the tools/garage to do it myself :(

It was my Front main seal, turned out to be an easy fix with some friends and beer.
Best of luck to you man.

Took it to Mazda, determined its the eccentric seal. $17 part... but the labor makes it $550!!! I'm supposed to take it back in, in a couple days to have it done but if i can find a DIY on it... might be able to save me some $$$

Well the OP did it himself with some friends so it couldn't be that complicated. Maybe he can provide some tips or just Google around for help.

I recently failed an emissions test and after getting the car looked at for a CEL they said the catalytic converter was bad, which I expected. They also said an internal o ring failure is what caused the CAT to fail. Is the engine shot? They are telling me it needs replacement, but I find it a little strange that my car is running completely fine. Starts and idles fine, and power is there all the way to redline. Don't see anything dripping or leaking anywhere, but I have noticed a it's using a little more oil in the last couple of months. The CEL was showing the P0420 code.
