No power steering WTF

well the car is randomly turning on the power steering light and of course this is annoying as well as making my daily driving miserable. started about two days ago and if i turn the car off and back one it goes back to normal but if stopped like at a light for long periods of time power steering goes bye bye

car is an
2004 6 speed MT
with 73,xxx miles

im thinking the 60A fuse but im not sure could it be something more serious????

Power steering module failure possibly, start with the fuse and run the codes to see what else may come up.

I have actually had quite a few people ask for used replacements, they are retarded expensive hopefully it is nothing major.

There have been several threads about the electrical connectors going bad/ being damaged and needing to be repaired or soldered on.

I experienced the same problem with my 2004 RX8. Checked connectors and all of that. Took to dealer and they discoved that my EPS module (that controls the power steering assist) was dead. 1200 bucks for the part and another 200 for labor, OUTCH!!! I was suprised when I found out what it was, I rarely heard of power steering failing in a relatively young car. By the way, a lot of extended warranty companies (i.e Emogi) won't cover it cuz I tried to get them to fix it....suckas!!
