It's happened before, hopefully it will be an easy fix.

does anyone know why?

Try disconnecting the battery for about 10 minutes, and then try it.
Of course you know that once you do this, you will have to reset the DCS/TCS right?
I'd also try doing some "advanced searches" on here and see what pops up.
Since everything else works, I'd be tempted to say that it's a loose connection to that display, but try the battery anyway.

Oh.......BTW......have you dicked with it in any manner what-so-ever? Is your audio totally stock?

RENESIS rotary 11-04-2008 01:08 PM

the audio is stock. it work fine all day, the only thing i did was i wiped the bottons with a dry cloth while it was off.
i check all the audio fuses and they are all fine.
i dont know how to reset the DCS/TCS. sorry i'm new to the 8.

Before someone says; "Search, Noob", after you re-connect the battery, turn the ignition on, then turn the steering wheel full-lock left, then right.....

See HERE for what the owner's Manual says.

I had my sun visor break and the wires within the sun visor crossed and shorted out a couple fuses in the car, one of them leaving my radio display black.

Mazurfer 11-04-2008 05:20 PM

Well.......that's a new one! :banghead:

laythor 11-04-2008 08:16 PM

RENESIS rotary 11-04-2008 08:30 PM

Good news, i fixed it!!
thanks a million guys. I unhooked the battery for a few minutes, and pluged it back, and started it. now it works.

Mazurfer 11-04-2008 10:03 PM

Good.....hopefully it just got jarbled up and it will be okay now. :dunno:

I guess I would say....don't be too surprised if it comes back, but hopefully it's gone for good.
