New 2004 Rx8, 80,000 miles several issues..

Hi everyone im new to the forum. First let me give you a little background, Names Chris from Orlando. Few months ago I was involved in a bad motorcycle accident and was useless for a couple weeks. I needed a vehicle ASAP so I was searching around and found a 2004 Rx8 mt with 78000 miles, it came from a private seller who had purchased a transferable extended warranty for it. I purchased the car last week since then I have changed the oil, spark plugs, coils, and the air filter. Oh and battery as well lol. Anyways, before I bought the car I did my fairt share of research on the rotary. Lurked around the forum for a couple weeks etc. Here are problems I have been noticing with the car: clutch pedal squeaks (I know it may snap), there is also a light very subtle squeaking while idling (sounds like one of the belts maybe?) there is hesitation in 3rd and 4th gears at WOT between 3k and 4k rpm, and last but not least, my horns fuse keeps blowing after pressing it once. I wanted to know if any of this is still covered under the FACTORY warranty or what I can do to fix it. Any help is GREATLY appreciated. Thanks in advance.

There has been a problem with the clutch peddle assembly cracking under stress. The squeaky peddle doesn't necessarily mean that it will. Mine was squeaky for awhile and then it went away and I haven't had any problems with it. It could be one of the two switches, on the assembly, that are causing the squeaking.
The idle sound you are hearing could be belts, but it could also could be the throw-out bearing. Does it go away when you press in the clutch peddle? You will have to narrow that one down by your self. It's hard to diagnose the location of a noise over the internet.
The RPM problem could be a bad catalytic converter or a stuck intake valve. If you can pull down the front of the converter, look and see if it is melted or being burned away. You have a federally mandated 8yr/80K mile warranty on that.
The horn problem is going to have traced by you. Unplug the wires at the horn and see if you still blow the fuse.

Nothing described here is covered under a manufacturers warranty. The only warranty you may have left is engine core warranty. https://www.rx8club.com/attachment.p...1&d=1287668534
Your extended warranty may cover some of it. You will have to read the contract to see what is covered.

Thanks for the quick reply, I know for a fact the throwout bearing is screwed, it makes a bit of a whirring sound when depressing the clutch, but I dont know about the squeaking. I'll look at it a bit more today. I'm pretty mechanically inclined how can I tell if one of the valves is stuck open and what is the best way to fix? New clutch + throwout bearing and midpipe will come next week..

Speaking only of what you believe MIGHT be an SSV issue. Here's the best thread on that. If you read enough of it, you will be able to determine if that symptom fits.
