Need help finding a rotary engine expert

Hi all,

Hope you can help me out. I live in the Greater Toronto Area and I need some help finding an "expert mechanic" on the RX-8 engine. Can't be a dealership. Here is why.

I purchased an '04 RX-8 in August of this year (125000 KMs on the car when I bought it). I reported a loss of power issue to my local Mazda dealer. They changed out the cat (under warranty) but that didn't fix the problem. They suggested that I replace the coils and wires. While researching coils and wires I decided to tell my story to Charles at BHR. He suggested that I take the car back to the dealer and have them run a compression test.

So I did that. Low and behold the #2 rotor comes back with scores that are below spec. The service guy says we are going to order you a new engine as you are still covered under warranty.

To make a long story a little less longer, Mazda said I had to produce service orders to demonstrate proper maintenance. I was able to get some service orders but the original owner did not follow Mazda's recommended service schedule and that's what Mazda based the decision on to not replace the engine under warranty.

Any way. I am looking for a rotary engine expert in the GTA to help me validate if the low compression is the result of a manufacturers defect. Any contact information for mechanics who could help me out would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
