Sell it...lol

It might be a wiring or grounding problem of some sort...

Might be the alternator is not giving enough volts. A normal alternator should have 13 to 14.5 volts. Did you replace it with a new one or a refurbished one?

I believe you asked this question in another thread...
It doesn't require two.

and i replaced it with a new one,and its fine 14 volts

Did this happen all of a sudden? Water damage? If the cause is a simple grounding problem, you might be able to find the cause of it by tracing the grounding of all the affected components to see if it comes to a common point. If the alternator just stopped providing adequate power, it shouldn't hurt the computer, unless there was a large voltage spike - not sure if this happens with alternator failures.

I'm not familiar enough with the RX-8's electrical layout to be of too much help here, but I would say your only hope is going through the wiring diagrams to hopefully find a common source of the issues.

My first thought would be to check and see if a previous owner had installed something electrical (speakers, radio, car alarm, fog lights, etc.) that necessitated playing around with the wiring.

1. Check Headlight relay & fog lamp relay
2. Check headlamp switch as hi beams, fogs, and instrument cluster ground through it.
3.Check JC-10 Ground connector on the upper left section of the dash as high beams, fogs, instrument cluster, climate control ground through it.

For the second part with the AC & radio.. Does your Dash illuminate properly? and do you have Bose audio or not?

Mr mango
In reference to your ac & radio comment. I believe I'm having the same issue and my dash does not illuminate properly as well as the fact I do have a Bose audio. Is all this related to the AC/radio issue? Thank you
