Multiple warning lights, but they go away on restart

Need some help! My 04 has been in storage a while (2 months) started up great and I eased her around for a few days. Then on a long drive all of the sudden my dash just lit up with the DSH, skidding car, and brake lit up and I lost a LOT of power. I pulled over, shut her down for 10 minutes and everything was back to normal. Now (about a week later, I took her for a ride and after about 30 minutes, the lights lit up, but I DIDN'T lose power I pulled off, shut down and immediate restart....no problems. A couple hours later (after dinner) she lit up on my way home. Again no power loss. I don't get it!:banghead: Anyway, I've got a potential buyer coming Monday and sure don't want this to happen! Any clues?

FYI, I'm running a CanZoomer Stage I which has worked fine since I got it way back in 2004. and Borla exhaust. I plan to turn off the Zoomer and see if that kills the problem but I'm hoping someone else has seen this and can tell me an easy fix.

Thanks

Sounds similar to scenario when MAF gets contaminated to me. Might want to check threads on cleaning the MAF and see if that helps. Its cheap, quick, and can't do any harm as long as you do it right. :)

Try to fully recharge the battery. Something more or less similar happened to me.

AutoBahnRX8, try this; Turn your car on, turn your wheel all the way to the left then all the way to the right then back to the center. See if the lights go away.

That will sove only one light at the best

I have no issues getting the lights to go away.

All I have to do is turn off and restart the car.

The battery is brand new as well.

It's just frustrating because I can't re-create the problem. Some days I'll drive all day with no lights but a few days later I drive 3 miles to the store and they come on. The power loss only happened twice (at highway speeds), but again, once I pulled over and restarted the car, everything was fine.

I think I'll clean the MAF this weekend just in case.

Worked for me when I had my wheels installed on my AT 8 all my lights turned on. So I did the old left to right trick and drove home that way. Went out the next day to start my car and they where all out :smoker:

I had this very same problem happen to me last week.... the same 3 lights and the same power loss. I shut the car off and back on and the lights went away but I still had the power loss for about another 20 minutes. After that everything was back to normal. I know that I've got a battery that needs to be replaced but I have no clue if that has anything to do with it. I'm running an MS CAI so I may try cleaning the MAF sensor and see if that does anything. Course this only happened to me once so the problem may have fixed itself. Who knows.

I had the lights come on after sliding on a turn I forgot to turn my DSC off. lights came on no loss of power though.. I turned off my engine, inspected fuses, vaccum lines, it was all good, then turned it back on and everything was kosher.

Strange.....
