Misfire and SSV Code

Hey, I've been a lurker here for a while and for the most part have found everything I'm looking for just by searching but this new problem I'm not quite sure about.

For about 2 weeks I've been having some power loss in the top end of my rev range, between 5000 and 9000 rpm. I thought it was coils at first and was gearing up for the change but today on the highway I got a sudden loss of power and a blinking CEL. I pulled the codes immediately on my CarPC and I have a P0302 Cylinder 2 Misfire and a P0661 Intake Manifold Tuning Valve Control Circuit Low Bank 1.

I expected to see the Misfire code but I didn't expect to see the second, which after search around appears to be the SSV solenoid.

My question, can the SSV solenoid cause a misfire or might that code have been thrown simply because of the misfire and I should work on the coils for now?

Thanks

Edit: The car is a 2005 MT

how's your idle?

idle is good, on the tach it's around 900, according to the carpc the ECU has it around 800rpm and it doesn't move. Works alright with AC on as well but a little rougher.

Well, if you have P0661, you need to replace your SSV solenoid. Once you've done that, start troubleshooting your misfire.
