You don't have to do a thing.

Calm down. Let the insurance company handle it.

Nobody can do anything until there is an inspection.

How would the mechanic know the screws were loose on the MAF?

Unless the took them off and started the fire.

If the car is not a lease, or if it is a lease and you will be billed later for damage when you return the vehicle, or you plan on buying out the lease, then get a lawyer. Would you buy a car that had a fire in the engine bay (no matter how small) for the same price as one that hadn't? That difference in price is your real damage. Your insurance company will be happy not to need to pay this, the General Liability insurance at the dealer will try to pay as little as possible, and I wonder if your insurance rates won't increase anyway. Don't let people without a fiduciary duty to you handle this. They will be looking out for their best interests, not yours. Get a free consultation from an Attorney to see if you have a case (you probably do) and get your damages and attorney fees paid for by the general liability insurance company for the dealer. That is why the dealer pays them a premium.
