MAF Recepticle stripped out
Well I was changing the spark plugs and wires out today and also cleaned my MAF...when I went to put the screws back in for it the left screw wouldnt tighten at all when i took it out the inner threads of the recepticle came out with it...Anyways it seems to hold alright with just the one thats tight but I dont wanna roll around with it like that for too long. I was wondering how much that would cost to replace or if it would be worth it to just get a CAI.

Just find a slightly larger screw.

Yea when mine got stripped I just hunted around the garage and found the perfect screw and used bolt cutters to chop it down to the right size. Dont go very much bigger than the OEM screw or you may crack something.
|
I drilled and tapped the receptacle and used very small stainless socket head cap screw's.
|
I had to change to bigger screws as well, make sure you have both screws or you will have a leak and bad reading from the MAF.

Well I just gave in and bought a typhoon today haha guess I just needed a good excuse to get one and this happened :)
