Low power at low rpm. #1 Coil bad
I brought my 04 in for hard start and low power at low rpm. They found my 2 year old Optima battery was bad and the #1 Leading coil was bad. I replaced the battery. They replaced the starter, Leading Coil, and plug wires. It feels like a new car. I did not have any CELs. I was afraid my engine was bad. That made me nervous since I run this engine the way it is supposed to be ran. Turns out, my compression is like new and so is my cat. I have 47K miles on it. From reading other threads I guess the other three coils will be going shortly. All the work was covered under warranty, but I am guessing the three remaining coils will fail outside of the warranty. At least they are cheaper than the plugs.

I think that is for the power train. I would be pleasantly surprised if electronics were included in the 60K warranty.

Did you find out about the bad coil due to a thrown CEL or was a measurement taken? If the former, would someone please advise on how to determine coil health?

pretty sure that you will get replacement to 60 and you could argue that they are part of the emmissions system and get more.
