Loss Power Gain

Hey guy, I have a problem with my car now. After Drifting my car 2 day ago. As of today my car seem to lose power gain. When I try to accelerate 1st gear or 2nd or 3rd . My RPM rev all the way to 5000 rpm . The car seem to move slowly. and accelerate I missing gain from 1000 - 4000 rpm. I do smell something burning from the engine. Do you think I need to replace a new cluth or transmission. or engine? Have anybody have this problem before. by the way I did turn off my car for the next morning if the problem would be fix by cooling down the grearbox . But right now it seem to do the same thing. Please gave me an advice before i head to the dealer charging me alot of mola.. ......:Eyecrazy:

Sounds like a clutch to me :)

Can't quite understand what you are saying, but if you mean the engine revs high but the car doesn't seem to move like it should, that could be the clutch. You should be able to tell the difference between a slipping clutch and a loss of engine power. Is the check engine light illuminated?

To check for a failed clutch, do a simple test. Apply the hand brake very hard, start the car, shift into 5th or 6th gear and slowly engage the clutch while holding the revs at about 3K. If the car stalls as the pedal comes up, the clutch is probably OK. If the engine continues to run with the pedal all the way out, the clutch is slipping and may need replacing.

thanks everybody for the head up... I did a simple test and i believe im getting a new clutch. It a good time to get a performance clutch for my car. :)
