Loss of power at exactly 7.5k RPMS
As the title states..
So I had issues with my idle, which I recently finally fixed. Solution? New plugs, wires, BHR Ignition, AEM Intake + new MAF. Finally got the car to stop slowly dipping under 700 rpms which would cause the car to shake pretty hard. So now that it idles correctly, go figure something else. I took the car on a spirited drive the other day and notice then when WOT the car would climb strong until exactly 7500RPMS hesitate for a second, then continue fairly strong.. maybe not 100% its hard to tell. I do currently have a slight exhaust leak between my header and catless midpipe which I tried fixing with a new crush gasket but apparently need 2. So I have another in the mail, not sure if this could be a cause. Current status: 81500 Miles Passed compression test P0420 for running catless, only CEL Stock flash, also cleared VRAM Cleaned new MAF just incase Rechecked plug tightness, wires, and BHR ground. Regardless of gear, I just find it strange it happens at EXACTLY 7.5k. Any input to possible causes or any additional info I could provide? |
No ideas?

The VDI opens at 7250. I wonder if yours is malfunctioning, which screws up the air intake velocity?

Besides the little part that we can push to verify it moves smoothly, any other way to test it?? I did have a p0309 code for a while. which went away when I replaced the rear coils. One was toast. Now running the BHR ign.

There is a thread detailing how to remove and test. Unfortunately I can't post it from the mobile site. Copy this below and post it in a Google search:
