Loss of Power
 

HEY,
I recently bought a 2004 automatic rx8 with 125000 miles. Since buying it I have replaced the battery and starter. Today i was driving it to work, about an hour away, when i realized it was lossing power. When i come to a stop it is very sluggish in 1 gear up to around 4 000 rpms. After 1st it acts fine. It is also idling very rough. I take very good care of it and this just started today. Any suggestions. I am not under warranty anymore and hope its something other than my engine failing. Thanks in advance!

Same thing everyone always suggests in every other thread about loss of power. Plugs and coils, change them. Maybe even get the mazda zoom-zoom cleaner(or seafoam) and clean the inside of the engine out.

Im also having the same problem. I changed my CAT my plugs/coils/air filter and wires and after a full 2 weeks of enjoyment the problem has come back. My last hope is the Seafoam. I just ordered my ACT clutch and flywheel and i will not even be able to enjoy it with the way the car is driving now. Very dissapointing. Good luck, hopefully your able to resolve the issue.

Get a compression test first and you'll know how your engine is stacking up. You might need a new engine, not a new clutch. Good luck.
