Looking for advice on lemon engine

Hello, im looking for people who have had their engine replaced (or not) due to low compression issues under warranty.
I had to argue with them to admit there was an issue after I had confirmation for a local garage that that was the issue, I had to argue to get them to replace it, the new engine is not better in any sence of the word!

milky oil since ive had it, oil light is on ALWAYS, spark knock noise when i get to high RPMs or get on freeway, oil gauges are whacked out, makes a rattle noise in reverse......

I'm wondering if others are having these issues and if anyone has a lemon lawsuit going?

I did see an ad from an attorney stating all of these issues and more...

thanks for any helpful tips or stories that may help me

Milky oil on dipstick = normal and common

Oil light on is bad, should have that looked at right away.
Spark knock noise? If you just mean knock ... well that's bad. If that is actually what you heard.
What kind of fuel do you use?
What year is your car?

Your car rattles in reverse ... lol my rattles all the time. I believe it's a common issue in the RX8. You're lucky it's only in reverse!

Oil gauges are not useful in any sense of the word.
It's just a go/no go sensor that's it.

I looked all through your post, and no where do I see where you wrote what year the car is, how many miles are on it, how long you have owned it, or if you have done any simple maintenance items, like spark plugs, spark plug wires, and ignition coils, which are the cause of typical complaints about low power, rough idle, check engine light on, and failed compression.

I can't help you until you try and help yourself.

Besides, who exactly are you going to try and sue?
Mazda extended the factory warranty on the engine to 8 years of 100k miles on all US sold RX-8's. You're going to sue them for what?

BC.

waste of a thread

my car is an 04
bought it brand new, 7 miles on it,
it currently has apx 83,000 on it
had the engine replaced last year , oil light has been on every since, I did call service dept, they stated that was normal and they could print out specs that stated that, i said thats unacceptable with a new engine!
i always use premium gas!
change oil every 3000 with the recommended oil

Im not saying i want to sue!!! im asking if anyone else is having this issue so that i have an arguement with mazda when they try to tell me nothing is wrong (like they did with the first motor)

the first engine rattled at idol, that was cracked motor mounts which i replaced when they replaced the engine and that solved that issue, although the noise in reverse is similar to that noise, ill check the mounts again.

Oil light being on is not normal.
I'm curious how they would prove that?

lol,,, thanks!
i plan on it! well actually i just dont want to get jerked around, I find that if i know some facts they change their story pretty quick,, i usually give them the benifit of the doubt at first, but we all know how mechanics like to take advantage of dumb women lol

You may have an incompetent dealer based upon your story.

By the way, this thread does not belong in GENERAL AUTOMOTIVE where we discuss: Everything automotive NOT related to RX-8s.

Best of luck with a quick resolution and enjoyment of your rotary powered Mazda.

Paul.

As previously stated, the milky oil is a known quirk of the series-1 motors, just condensation related, nothing to worry about.

"Spark noise" could be the "marbles in a can" sound, which is related to cooling system cavatation in the heater core circuit. Known issue, there is a fix (restrictor port), and nothing to worry about.

"Oil guages whacked out" doesn't make any sense. There is a faux oil guage (which indicates the presence of oil pressure, not a calibrated amount), and an oil light (which indicates low oil level). There are reported instances of oil level sending unit malfunctions that result in a false oil light. Not difficult nor expensive to diagnose and repair.

I don't see any cause to jump to legal action in any of this...

its not just S1, the older rotaries do it too

follow up

well i did take it to the mazda dealer, and of course they told me i need a new engine, this one has apx 20,000, i do change the oil regularly and use what it recommended for the car.

yes i do believe i have a bad dealership!

they said this motor is not warranted, one guy told me it was a brand new motor, one told me it was refurbished motor.
they said it was 4 qts low on oil. ( i just topped it off a week ago )
they ran the gas out and tried to charge me diagnostics to tell me that they replaced my motor with a worse one!

I threw a fit and they did take off the charge but thats all

I took it straight to a oil shop and checked the oil again,,, again they said the oil was fine!
however the transmission fluid looks as tho someone put oil in it!

the dealership tried every reason to blame me for this issue!
I guess i need to file with the better business bureau and call MAZDA direct because i never seem to get anywhere with Foothills Mazda in Spokane!

i should of known when i tried to order the car brand new and they wouldnt even look until i had the cash in hand or filled out finance papers!
oh well.. i found a dealer in Seattle who was more than glad to sell me a car for cash!

i am sorry for posting this in a place that it "didnt" fit into,,, i will work on finding the correct place for posting!
