Limp clutch petal; can't shift unless rev match
It's exactly what the title says... I'm gonna keep this short for the people that "tl;dr" lol.
Started out with my clutch sticking, and took at a couple of seconds to spring back then it went straight to the floor after about 2 hours drive time with the sticking and couldn't shift at all without rev matching... I think it's the slave cylinder but that doesn't explain why my clutch petal is so floppy.. I'm serious when I say floppy it can touch my brake petal... I hope someone out there knows what it is so I don't end up blowing all my money on things it could be.... Thanks for any help. |
Bleed it and adjust your pedal. Works wonders. There are a few good DIYs on here in the DIY section. I just did mine a couple days ago and the difference is suprizing. It should only take a about 30 mins or so and it's super easy to do. Make sure you have a helper to pump the pedal when your bleeding the system.

PS...do it when the engine is cold. :-)

Sounds like you have a hydraulic problem with your clutch...or a broken bracket..or both :)
See if you have any leaks.......that will help narrow down if it is the master or slave..or line :) |

The pedal assembly itself is breaking or has broken. Mazda has a 100,000 mile warranty on that part due to the complaints and NHTSA investigation. Take a look at this thread: https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-trouble-shooting-95/clutch-pedal-snap-off-8-year-warranty-recall-%7E%7E%7E-132912/ |

Will I also need to replace anything else as well? like the Slave, or Master? |
Save yourself the trouble and do a search about Clutch Pedal Assemby! If it touches your brake pedal, it is definitely BROKEN just as what dannobre, zoom44, and RIWWP have said. Peek under the dash, there are three points where the clutch bracket is mounted to the firewall, and look at the upper left mount because that is the piece where the break commonly occurs.
