Jumping car and alarm keeps going off

Well, I just got back from a week vacation and my battery is completely drained. Looks like a dome light was left on by mistake. When I put a battery charger on the alarm instantly starts to go off. I've tried hitting the panic button on my key fob, hit the unlock and lock buttons also. I know that the car still thinks it's armed and that's why it continues to go off. It's in underground parking and it's 3am so I didn't want to continue trying different methods in case somebody decided to call the cops. Does anybody know how to get it to shut off? Thanks!

Did you make sure the doors were closed (except the hood obviously)?
I believe that'll set the alarm off if it wasn't disarmed prior.
Maybe even close and lock the doors manually (with the key) so its in the same state it would be with the alarm on.

Did you disconnect the battery before charging.

Well, took the battery into Auto Zone and the battery tested bad so I purchased a new battery. Made sure the doors were all locked and installed the new battery. Everything is good now. FYI, make sure your girlfriend shuts off the passenger dome light before you go on a week vacation

Help!! I am having the same problem currently... My alarm would stay on with a constant honk and not respond to my remote when I try to jumpstart it. I am not able to start my car or anything...

So did you just put in a new battery and the alarm responded to the remote immediately? Do you know if this is issue is caused by the battery being low on juice?

Do as Jon says............
If that don't work then put jumper battery turn key on, don't start. Now turn key off.

Let car charge for 10 minutes the start.

You need to charge the battery over night. It's very hard on the alternator to charge a dead battery while driving. You'll never make it to full charge.

I have tried the key method with the doors and stuff, but no luck... maybe my alarm is tripping out because of the low voltage of the battery? I will charge my battery overnight and see if that fixes the issue. Hopefully the worst thing that I would have to do is replace my battery...

Thanks Razz!

Ok so I got my battery full charge with a battery charger and the problem is still there! I cant disarm the alarm or unlock the car. I even used my other remote and still no good. I tried unlocking and locking the car door with the key multiple times, turning the key in the ignition on and off and the alarm seem to not respond to it at all. Any other ideas before I decide to contact the dealer? Any help would be appreciated!!!

Also does anyone who brought there car into the dealer to get this fix know how much it would cost?

this spring, my alarm went off when I went to charge the battery after having the car in storage all winter, all I did was manually open the trunk with the key and the alarm shut off.

if anyone else has this problem, manually opening the trunk with your key does work.

So I'm going through this same scenario. Battery is being charged disconnected from the car. I tried everything listed above but the alarm just goes off when I turn the key. Did anyone have any luck with just replacing the battery? That's my next plan of action for tomorrow. I have an 04' GT 6spd with 100,000mi. My leave expires in two days and I'm 8 hours away from base. I'm desperate. Thank you for any help. :crying:

So I bought a new battery after the same thing happened with the old charged one. ( I needed one anyway) and the alarm continues to go off when the key is turned. Anyone with any help will be greatly appreciated. I'm losing my mind.

you already tried connecting the battery, leaving it connected with the alarm going off then opening the trunk manually with the key? as soon as you open the trunk it should shut off.

I only have one key so not with the alarm going off. It only came with one key when I bought it about 4 months ago. Thankfully i've been granted permission to have a few more days to have my car fixed. On monday I'm having my car towed to the dealer so i can get another key, fob, and have this issue fixed.

I know it's an old thread, but just in case anyone has this problem in the future, I just pulled my horn relay and then disarmed the car. The alarm still goes off(lights flash) but the horn doesn't so you can disarm it with the key and not piss everyone off.

Unlock the trunk after connecting cables

lock car hook cables and unlock the trunk
