Intermittent speaker problem!

Hi All.

I am having a small but annoying problem with my 2005 RX8 BOSE pax side speaker. When I have the volume above about 20, (fade & Bal are 0) I am intermittently loosing the sound from the footwell speaker only. (the tweeter is fine) I've tried to determine if its happening when the car is warmed up or cold but doesn't seem to make a difference. When it drops out it can be for a few seconds or a few minutes. However, when I turn the radio down to around 10, it comes back on and does not miss a beat!(although not imediatly) I can also turn the ignition off then on again, and this works too. I was starting to wonder if this was an overheating problem in the Amp or something? Or is there a thermal cutout for each amp? Pls help as its very hard trying to fault diagnose it. :banghead:cheers

My guess would be something is wrong with the amp. I think the door speakers each have their own amp, and for some reason that one is cutting out. In my experience, bad wiring will usually be worse at low volumes.
The only way to really test would be to pull the door apart and put a multimeter on.
