Intermittent oil warning light
Surprised not to find this here but have looked.
Anyhow as it says above I have had intermittent warning light for some months. Bears no relation to oil level. Initially used to come on quite frequently now seems less frequent and only comes on after have driven form about 15-20 mins. Resets on engine switch off (do this at lights or in neutral on a straight road!) although tends to come back pretty soon (often just a minute or two but sometimes stays off longer). Anyone had similar problem? Might it just disappear? We can all just hope. Sensor, wiring, engine management electronics? The reset on swtiching off makes me think NOT electrical wiring but ... TIA Steve EDIT: Sorry should have said CEL is NOT on and has not been on for ages. (Have not done OBD (new computer and have not installed software). Is it worth doing? |

Hello, I have a 2007 RX8 GT, I just recently had my motor rebuild. I am do to change my oil. I know how to do it, but I have been looking in to what oil is best to use. I've gone to many sites and everyone of them have people arguing about to use synthetic or not. I have heard Royal purple is one of the best then other people have said not to use it. I just would like to get some impute on what others have used and what they feel is the best. Thank you

Long and short of it is, as long as you change it regularly at 3000mi/5000km, it doesn't significantly matter what you use. If you're racing or have other special requirements, then you need to explore the subject deeper and make your own decision. |
