RX8Club.com - Intermittent Oil Level Light on Highway

Took a short trip a week ago and while cruising about 75-80mph (~4000 RPM's) the oil level light would come on for a few minutes then go off for a few minutes. It repeated this cycle 3-4 times. We were close to our exit anyway, so we slowed down a bit and then checked the oil when we exited the highway. It took about 0.25 quarts to bring the oil to the top line on the dipstick, so I really don't think it was an oil level problem. While driving at slower speeds around town at our destination, we didn't see the light come on again. One the way back home, it came on once and then went off after a few minutes. Haven't seen it since in around town driving back home. My wife thought it was related to whether or not we were going uphill or downhill, but it wasn't repeatable enough to verify that. Another piece of information - it was about 95 degrees that day if it matters. I also run 10W-40 oil if that helps.

Looked in the owners manual and of course it says to check the oil. There is plenty of oil and it looks normal (i.e. dark brown/black, no bubbles, froth, etc.). It also says that if the oil level is normal, to have the car checked out. My nearest dealer is an hour away, so I'd like to deal with this myself if possible.

Does this light indicate anything else? Is it as simple as the oil level sensor going out or a bad connection? I've been searching, but all I found was a post with a vague reference to 2004's (which is what I have) and oil level sensors - no specifics however.

Edit: Sorry! Never mind - I search for "oil level light" and get almost nothing. I post and I get 3 related posts at the bottom of mine that answer the question perfectly! Figures - yet another TSB that I'm going to have to pay for myself to get the car right because the PO never got any of the TSB's done during the warranty period (i.e. starter, motor mounts, and now oil pan/sensor).
