Interesting issue with Cruise control and a CEL
Hi All, I've been having this same issue for the last 3 weeks and the circumstances seems to be pretty consitant. I've already taken into the dealer once and they couldn't find any problems with it.
Basically if I have the cruise control set to slightly over 100kph for a short period of time (around 10 minutes or so) I get a check engine light, normally the P2096. This then goes away after a few days of non-highway driving. The car still drives normally, no loss of power, no surging, no new strange sounds, nothing. If I drive without cruse control on at the same speed for the same period of time then everything works fine. So I'm startign to think I have a glitch in the computer somewhere. Do any of you have any idea what is going on here? Any advise is greatly appreciated. If it helps I have a 2003 GT Manual with about 65000kms on it. |
Your FRONT O2 sensor might be bad.
MAF could be bad, or just dirty. it cold be bad gas too. It has something to do with LTFM which I am not going to explain (too long) if your FRONT O2 sensor has never been replace, it might be a good time to take the old one out, test it, if its bad, replace it. Test the MAF too, or clean it if you never did it b4 |
