immobilizer issue
A little history. This will be the second time in 3 months that my immobilizer has rendered my 8 immobile. The first time the dealer said it was a dead battery, I had a feeling but wanted to make sure. This time I had my doubts, changed the battery in April. but I got another one anyways. nothing changed, I researched for 4 hours today, and last time for about 8 hours. I found stuff saying reset ECU via pressing break 20 times, nothing, I checked all fuses and relays they are good. I checked the ECU. tired 2 different code readers and I couldn't communicate with the ECU to get anything. I tried reprogramming my keys via turn key, open close door method. that didn't do anything either. Does anyone know what the dealer does to solve the immobilizer issue. everything worked the night prior. only difference was I put on the BHR clutch pedal I ordered.
I am lost, most of the posts I viewed today had nothing to do with the immobilizer. either bad fuse or something else they over looked. I am not with my car now, I had to leave it and return to my unit. so any info I can get I will follow up on when I return next week. |
There is a "DIY Diagnostic Output" troubleshooting thread that has detailed immobilizer diagnostics in it.
Idk how to post links, so just search for it, it's not hard to find. |
i just got home from duty and the code is x_xxxxxx (Communication error between the keyless control module and the PCM)... Currently looking up how to get to the KCM. To Disconnect and reconnect.

so i just took out and disconnected the keyless control module and reconnected it and that didnt help. yes battery and all that jazz too. im starting to think either the PCM or module is bad, i do not have a means to test them, but even if i did i wouldnt know how. going to look to see if i can find something.
any insight would be great, thanks yall |
