ignition fuse blowing please help

alright so it was originally only blowing the ignition fuse when i put it into reverse, so i drove it to work without using reverse and then on my way home it shut off using 5th gear so i replaced the fuse in the middle of the road and it just failed again after a few seconds of running. even in neutral or first it does it. has anyone had this problem or know what it could be? i also tried unplugging the reverse lights and that didnt work

there is a shortage, did you take out your rear light or did some body work, since the shortage is started at reverse, I will check the wiring at the reverse light see if any wire is touching the body.

You're talking about the 30A at position 19 in the engine bay fuse box right?

Where are you located?
Have you done ANYTHING to the car recently?

Have you recently driven through any high water?

its the 15A i think its position 22 or 21 i'll go check when i see the car its at the shop right now but they havent had time to diagnose it

i havent done much to the car recently other than side skirts and front body kit but that was at least 4-5 months ago. i did remove the exhaust like 6 months ago and it melted the rear plastic part of the bumper, so it could have melted a wire. and also when i replaced the clutch plate the mechanic told me i need to replace the reverse sender switch on the transmission because it was leaking oil but wasnt a major amount at the time.

i'm in cali, so no water in a while

Okay, had to ask the stupid questions first.
Go see this thread. Since you said it's the 15A it's more than likely one of these two switches then!

This is a thread that will sound really familiar and lead you to the "test the switches" thread that I linked above. https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...gnition+switch

i took it to my mechanic and hes saying it was the reverse switch and that since i continued to drive it like that i blew out the "accessory control relay" does that sound right?
