I think 2 questions that have simple answers

My two little problems are:
1. SOMETIMES when I go to stop I hear metal on metal (grinding) not a high pitch squeal like break pads sound when worn down. I can make the noise either when I come to a stop and I'm on a decline (nose of car point down) OR if i turn the wheel to turn into a parking spot.
The car is lowered on coilovers and has staggered 19's so thought possible scrubing issue but def. not scrubing its very much a metal grinding noise and yes it will come and go such as doing it once every 3 times I come to a stop.

2. My cupholders give off some crazy heat underneath them. If I put a cold drink in it and drive around a little the drink will warm up pretty nice.

Sounds like pads...check the inner ones that are harder to see.....

Or else something else is binding/rubbing. Metal on metal will leave a mark so look carefully...maybe put it up on an alignment rack and check to see if it rubs anywhere.

Nothing you can do with the cupholders except drink coffee ;)

Yes. The heated cup holders are a "feature." :)

I'm surprised the drinks become that warm, but the cupholders are on top of the transmission which becomes warm was you drive.

It's more than likely your pads for the brakes.

The other is a feature in Winter, but sucks in the Summer. See the below thread for one idea.

ok heres a better idea... Ive narrowed it down the the car doing it in gear (if in neutral it still will but not near as much) and starts to do it almost at a dead stop just before I come to a complete hault. However I will be sure to check the pads out this weekend. thanks
