I really need advice....

ok should I take it to the dealer to get my car looked at. Or does anyone know what it might be...? I wanted to see what people thought on here first, so this way I dont get taken "for a ride" at the dealership, since I have already replaced a few things and it hasnt helped... .. :) thanks

heres the issue

well my car started to feel like I was loosing power at first(04-miles41k)... I had to give it more gas in order for it to get going. This got worse over a week or so. Whatever gear im in if slam the gas the rpms and engine pick up but the car seems to take a while to react (but still feels weak), I did smell the clutch burning when I did that. But I thought this was the case even on a good clutch?. At first I thought it was a power loss so i changed my plugs and coils but still no luck, the engine did feel more responsive though. Same issue different day. The car even feels weak while going up hills :uhh: would this just be a loss of power or clutch failure???? :dunno:

thanks in advance for any input

If it drives smooth at low speeds, then 'chugs' and loses more and more power as you try to go faster; that sounds like a plugged cat = free replacement by the dealer.

If it's a manual tranny and revs increase significantly before the road speed rises; that does sound like the clutch = up to $500, your dime.

...no the car from the get go is lacking power...so through out the powerband it is weak..... and it is an MT..... so it is what you say it is... the revs increase before my speed picks up.... does this mean I need a new clutch kit? or disc?.....

Well I called the dealership. My cars still under warranty so they said they can have a look at it, but if the problem is a worn disc (signs of abuse) then I would have to pay for the labor charges 600-700$$ :/ .. and if its a defect they will cover it. So does anyone know if our clutches are weak from the factory? Or is this mainly my fault. Thanks

Sounds like it, especially since you're smelling clutch smoke. That would mean a new clutch disc at a minimum, and then while it's apart they'll see if there's anything else (like an oil leak) that might have contributed to its early demise.

update..... turned the car on for like 30min... and when I was at the back of the car I noticed the exhaust fumes smelled a lot like rotten eggs... now im guessing this is the cat?? Could this be the problem for the severe power loss?? I have a borla exhaust.. or is it the exhaust?
thanks
