how many times...

will the renesis take flooding???

i handed over the car to mechanic who took it to the hyundai shop where he works.. did a diaog on it.. says that rotor one its compression is at 78% or something i'll get exact numbers in a bit.. and rotor 2 is at 118.. the minimum he said for each rotor is 98.6

granted my car does have high miles.. almost 110k

and remember i had the flooding Q's in a thread prior to this one..

so changed out coils.. plugs were cleaned.. wires and plugs where not even a yr old yet..

my guy is in contact with the a mazda buddy of his.. hopefully i'll find out something soon i'd really rather not buy a new motor..

but as my question was stated how many times can a the renesis take a flood??

you need to get real compression numbers as jmc said in a set of three...

as for the 3 rotor idea....Ill just say it before you get flamed for bringing it up but there are a million threads on this subject and its gonna take a long time and cost 20k plus upwards of 30k if you cant do any of the work

actually i read it.. let me edit b4 i do get smashed on lol... but yeah he did mention after i posted this that his computer is not as accurate as the one mazda is going to have obviously

The compression test results should come in a set of three numbers per chamber. For example: Rotor 1: x, x, x - shows a result for each face. You should have two of these.

You may want to try an engine decarb. There is a DIY Mazda Zoom Zoom Cleaner thread that will five you the instuctions.

i have flooded it twice n a years time.. but only cuz i was dumb and didnt spend money right n not buy my coils when needed..

well i found the thread about cleaning.. and its recommended to have the car warmed up b4 hand in order to effectivly clean.. my car wont start at all.. that doesnt seem to be useful.. ;(

ilovemy8 02-18-2010 06:34 PM

yur right i didnt mention that but in the prior thread i did.. sorry
yeah my car is not starting...

Take it to a Mazda Dealer or special rotary shop.

Hyundai mechanics do not know a rotary.

ilovemy8 02-20-2010 01:20 PM

Well the guy was a friend he wants to learn more rotary so I gave him a chance its currently at maDa and I'm awaiting further details.. ill keep ya informed

well i took it in to the stealership.. turns out the battery in my car is too small which didnt help, so it helped with the flooding..

also i needed a new secondary shutter vaule replaced and the intake cleaned out througly..

the only reason i paid 850 is because i dont have any trusted rotary mechanic exept the one in the back of that dealership, the others were not closer than 200 miles..

so i allowed to get that done.. it was gonna be 1200 bux but i talked him down to 850..

so after a 2 month wait i'll be driving my 8 tomorrow home from work.. :)

what a steal =|

ilovemy8 02-24-2010 10:19 PM

the guy that worked on my car is the buddy of my other mechanic friend..

thats why i mentioned "trusted"

but in all reality.. i could have just gotten screwed.. stealership took me wtf'ever i know now.. lol

thanks tho.. seriously. i'll make sure to ask for that particular part..
